Local News and Gossip

For those of you looking to relocate a business or industry, Williston is centrally located in the State of Florida, with a large industrial park, located right next to the airport. This airport has two runways, one 7,000 ft long and the other 4,330 ft., both recently repaved. We are also close to Florida Hwy 19, a four lane highway that runs down the West coast of Florida, and only 17 miles from I-75 and the City of Gainesville and the University of Florida. Please contact us and we will gladly give you more information on our wonderful little Town. More local news, polls, pictures, etc. will be on page 2 (About Us).

Have you been to see Johnny T. Henry Park lately? The plants, trees are all in and the new dedication sign is up and it is wonderful. There are children always there playing, and parents too. Imagine that, seeing parents playing with their children. Reminds me of when I was a child. John Henry would be so proud!

LEVY COUNTY: VOICES FROM THE PAST

written by Drollene Brown, with historical stories from the individuals who lived them.

The Hager's and Lowman's combined their families on April 1, 1978, joining together seven children and one grandchild. Our families have grown extensively over the last thirty years - we now have seven children (still), eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They are scattered from here to there but as a family we keep in touch. We now have gone full circle in our lives, and reside where we started out 30 years ago, Florida. With it's heat, humidity, bugs, alligators, magnolias and etc. we have settled in a small town where the Lowmans originally established residency (and still own) in Florida in 1852. They migrated here from South Carolina. The Hager's were later arrivels, from West virginia, after settling in Jamestown, Virginia, way back when. This town is still American enough to fly the American Flag, have a parade at the drop of a hat, and wave and say "Hello" even if they don't know you. But they do know your a neighbor and deserve the respect. It is casual, cattle and race horse country, and we plan on living out our senior years here. Thanks for visiting us "Sugha, and ya'll come back now ya hear!"  (Family photos and news will be on Page 3, Photo Gallery)
